Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Everything you need to know about the UffPay app and services.

How does UffPay work?

Link your payment method, choose the amount to send and confirm. Your recipient receives the money in approximately 24 hours, with a transparent fee of 3.5% + $0.50 per transfer.

How do I get started with UffPay?

Download the UffPay app from Google Play or the App Store, create your account and verify your identity with your DPI or passport. Once your account is verified, you can send money in minutes.

Who can open a UffPay account?

UffPay is for adults (18 or over). Senders in the United States register with a government-issued photo ID and the identity details required by U.S. customer identification rules. Recipients and users in Guatemala register with a DPI or passport. In both cases you also need an email address and a phone number.

Do I need an invitation code to create an account?

No. The invitation code is optional: you can create your account without one and add it later from your profile.

Can I connect my bank accounts to UffPay?

Yes. You can securely link your bank accounts and cards to check balances, fund your transfers and receive alerts about unusual activity.

Is my financial data secure with UffPay?

Yes. We encrypt data in transit and at rest, monitor every transaction in real time and apply strict KYC and AML controls. UffPay is a financial technology company, not a bank: in the United States funds are held through licensed partners at FDIC-insured institutions, and FDIC insurance covers the failure of an insured bank rather than the failure of UffPay or a partner. In Guatemala, transactions are processed through NeoNet with funds held in custody by regulated banking institutions.

What are the transaction limits?

Standard limits of Q. 2,500 per day, Q. 10,000 per week and Q. 25,000 per month apply before you complete full account verification. Once your account is fully verified, higher limits may apply.

Does UffPay work with Visa?

Yes. UffPay holds a seven-year growth agreement with Visa covering ten approved markets, subject to launch conditions. The agreement allows UffPay to issue its own branded Visa prepaid cards through an approved issuing partner, and it puts Visa launch and volume support behind the Guatemala rollout. The card program itself is in final certification.

Is UffPay available on multiple devices?

Yes. UffPay is available for iOS and Android, and you can sign in securely from multiple devices with the same account.
